WWE SummerSlam 2020
WWE to begin the biggest pay-per-view event of the year, SummerSlam. Although the promotion is still hamstrung by the continuing coronavirus pandemic, leaving them to stage shows at the Orlando Performance Center without the participation of fans, the hope remains that WWE will provide SummerSlam with the normal big-show feel as best it can.
WWE SummerSlam 2020 Match
SummerSlam will be held inside the WWE Performance Center on Sunday, August 23, and will stream live on the WWE Network. SummerSlam has started at 6 p.m. an hour earlier than regular pay-per-view events in previous years. ET with a kickoff display that will lead us in at 5 p.m. No indication as yet has been given if the current circumstances would alter SummerSlam's start time in 2020.
While no matches have been made official for the event so early in the building, there are reasonable assumptions to be made based on recent events on Raw, SmackDown, and the recent pay-per-view of Extreme Rules.

SummerSlam 2020 Prediction
WWE Championship
Drew McIntyre (c) vs Randy Orton
Orton is on an impressive streak this year and during the COVID-19 pandemic was the breakout star in WWE. The rumors of this match have been circulating, and there are few options available that Orton 's challenging McIntyre for major SummerSlam title matches. Since winning the championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, McIntyre has broken through challengers and Orton poses an entirely new kind of challenge. The two have not really crossed paths since Orton was busy playing Legend Killer, but Orton has plenty of time to inject himself into the path of the champion
Universal Championship
Braun Strowman (c) vs The Fiend Bray Wyatt
The problems between Strowman and Wyatt had also contributed to this. Strowman beat Wyatt at Money in the Bank, and the two fought in the Wyatt Swamp War at Extreme Rules to an inconclusive end, with Wyatt returning to his leader of the Wyatt Family. The Swamp Battle ended with Strowman dragging Wyatt into the marsh, and The Fiend emerging from the mud. The Fiend is the final and most dangerous form of Wyatt, and the version of Wyatt that Strowman must beat in order to really assert dominance in the rivalry.
SmackDown Women's Championship
Bayley (c) vs Sasha Banks
A match has long been teased between the best mates, with Bayley and Banks both working together as a formidable force in the women's division. However, envy has been creeping in and when Banks finally loses its rematch for the Raw women's title with Asuka, things could kick off between the women's tag champions. If the couple loses the tag titles and Bayley is left with the only piece of gold in the pairing, expect fans to see a Bayley vs. Banks showdown finally return to a major stage.
Seth Rollins vs Aleister Black
SummerSlam seems too fast to get Rey Mysterio back from pulling out his eyeball. Until WWE is ready to pull the trigger on a match between Dominick Mysterio and Rollins, Black becomes the most viable choice. Rollins beat Black on Raw 's July 20 edition, and he and Murphy put a huge beating on Black that ended up on Black 's arm with a brutal Rollins stomp as it was hanging over part of the announcement table. Black was willing to claim revenge at SummerSlam.
United States Championship
MVP (c) vs Mustafa Ali
It may be reading too much into a case where Apollo Crews was unavailable, but at the moment MVP holds the title of the United States, whether valid or not. When Ali made his surprising return on Raw 's July 20 edition, joining Cedric Alexander and Ricochet in a six-man tag against MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, Ali pinning MVP for the win felt like there was some meaning. Benjamin has lost almost every match he's had on WWE programming in the last decade, and for MVP to eat the pin it seems like it might be the beginning of something bigger.
