West Bengal Health Scheme

West Bengal Health Scheme has been launched by the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal for Government Employees & Pensioners where certain medical facilities are provided to the beneficiaries. The West Bengal Health Scheme is administered by a medical cell formed under the Finance department of Government of West Bengal. One of the most important and basic areas is healthcare which, if neglected, can lead to a drastic slowdown in human resource growth rate, wherein the main sufferers are mostly women and children. West Bengal Government has worked tremendously in the field of healthcare and development sector. 

What is the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the West Bengal Health Scheme?


All family members of the employees of the West Bengal State Government are financially dependent on an income of less than Rs. Three thousand five hundred per month are eligible for the scheme. Here are a few more eligibility criteria provided for the scheme: 

1.    The State Government employees, their dependents (fulfilling the criteria), state Government pensioners and their families stand the right to avail the facilities of the scheme.
2.    The beneficiaries who have chosen the medical allowance are also deemed to enjoy the benefits of this scheme.
3.    Service officers and Pensioners of West Bengal can claim these benefits and facilities.
4.    Along with the cashless treatment, this scheme provides coverage for the employee and his family, parents, and siblings that are dependent.


West Bengal Health scheme – Cashless limit 

The West Bengal healthcare scheme provides cashless treatment and aims to offer the best of support to the state govt employees and pensioners in the field of medical and health care. 

•    The scheme beneficiaries will get cashless indoor treatment up to Rs. 100000/- in empanelled hospital per indoor.
•    In case if the treatment is done in non-empanelled hospitals 60% (80% where a number of bed is more than 80) of approved cost or the actual amount paid whichever is less
•    Beneficiaries will get reimbursement of any indoor treatment that exceed one lakh based on a claim to DDO/PSA
•    Beneficiaries will also get reimbursement of OPD treatment cost that is incurred during the period of thirty days for the same cause for which indoor treatment is taken. 
•    Reimbursement for certain specific disease OPD treatment will also be given.
•    Beneficiaries will also get reimbursement for certain specified follow-up treatment cost as well. 
•    Beneficiaries will get Reimbursement of cost of treatment in certain Speciality Hospitals outside the State.
