Veeraraghava temple
This temple was built by the Chola kings in the 6th century. Later in the 8th century, this temple was rejuvenated by the Pallavas King. The main god of this temple is Veeraraghava Perumal, who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The other main deity is Kanakavalli Thayar, who is the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. The other shrines related to God Vishnu like Karudaazhwar is there in this Temple. This Temple is one of the 108 divya desam, built by Chola with greater significance. A gateway tower (raja gopuram) of seven laminae is there at the entrance of this temple. On the western side of this temple, there is a temple tank. Apart from that, there is a Goshala inside this temple. The Temple was constructed by a Chola king, during the Cholas period. As this was one of the oldest temples, this temple was constructed with the help of rocks. Every month, the special day in this temple is Amavasya day.
