The Rig Ending Explained

The crew members were infected by the spores levitating around within the 'fog,' with varying consequences. Rose discovered that spores in the ash might mix themselves with people as hosts. For the unhealthy person, it may cause a horrid and gory death. While for others, it might give healing properties, presenting them with visions. Baz and Fulmer both fell under its spell, while Leck was unlucky, getting killed when the spores attempted to possess him. It was spreading. Rose, Magnus, and Fulmer undertake a mission to communicate with the Ancestor. But they struggled with the time, as the Rig's drilling had activated a monumental tsunami on the way.
Coake, another character, is attempting to safeguard a helicopter for himself to escape. Rose, Magnus, and Fulmer ditched their efforts and joined him. They ascended from the Rig in proper time as the wave smacked above it. Baz, who felt a close connection to the Ancient, thought to remian behind sacrificing himself. Among the Lost-style monsters and supernatural elements, there's a thematic connection to the climate catastrophe running via The Rig. In the show's last moments, we could notice that Cat's wife sees on as an eerie shadow edged, pointing at her window. The Tsunami appeared to be heading for mainland Scotland. The audience could see the helicopter descending to an unknown spot with more things having been damaged.
