Survivor Australia 2022

The ninth season of the popular show Australian Survivor, alias Australian survivor: blood v water, is all set to premiere on 31st January 2022. The show is based on the international reality game show franchise "Survivor." Following the concept of earlier versions of the Survivor format, the show includes a group of players known as "castaways" since they are stranded in a remote environment. The castaways must provide their food, water, fire, and shelter. The contestants participate in various tasks for prizes and immunity from elimination. As their other castaways vote them off the island, the participants are gradually removed from the game. The final castaway standing receives the title of "Sole Survivor" and the grand prize of A$500,000. In this season, the players will be competing against their own loved ones (Siblings, Couples, In-laws, parents, and children).

The ninth season marks as the third season to be filmed in their home country, due to the covid-19 pandemic's impact on Australian borders, closed since March 2020. This season is filmed at Charters Towers, Queensland.

Sandra Diaz-Twine

We've Survivor royalty on the ground from the start, ready to go all out. Sandra is the show's first two-time champion, having triumphed on Survivor: Pearl Islands and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains in 2003 and 2010, respectively.
She has returned to the show three times as a competitor and once as a mentor. She'll be a force to be reckoned with all of her expertise and knowledge of how the game works.
In the Australian version, the 47-year-old will star with her daughter, Nina Twine.

Alanna "Nina" Twine

Nina Diaz-Twine, a graduate of Eastern Carolina University, is the 24-year-old daughter of Survivor champion Sandra Diaz-Twine.
Nina's renowned mother has already hinted that she will be a "secret weapon" in her winning run, saying in a recent promo, "Y'all better look out, 'cause I taught her well." We'll keep an eye out!

Mark Wales

Mark will be familiar to Survivor viewers because he played in Season 2 of Australian Survivor. It means he has some knowledge of how the game works, and he's competing alongside his wife Sam Gash, whom he met on that season back in 2017. But they weren't married back then, which makes their return to the how a different ball game this year.
In a teaser trailer, he adds, "Playing Survivor with your spouse is a very dangerous idea," "But the good thing is, if one of us wins, we both win."
Mark, a former SAS Troop Commander, married Sam in 2019, and the couple has a little boy.

Samantha "Sam" Gash

Sam is an endurance athlete in her own right, so we're confident she'll enjoy physical challenges. In 2010, she was the first and youngest person to compete in the Four Deserts Grandslam, which consists of four 250-kilometer desert ultramarathons performed in four different deserts worldwide.

Michael Crocker

It wouldn't be Survivor if there weren't a sports star on the show. Michael, a former NRL player, will be on the show alongside his sister-in-law Chrissy Zaremba. After retiring from the Rabbitohs in 2013, it's time to see what goals the 41-year-old will kick in the most grueling of reality TV challenges.

 Chrissy Zaremba

Chrissy is Michael's partner Kiri-Moana Proctor's sister. We have yet to see her in action, but she has already contemplated the possibility of having to face Michael. "If we have to go up against each other, I'm in all kinds," she says in a Channel 10 promo.

Sophie Cachia

Sophie has a huge fan base on Instagram, with 266k followers, who will be rooting for her when she participates on Survivor. The lifestyle influencer will accompany her sister, and Sophie sees their tight relationship as an advantage.

"I honestly don't think there is any bond that will be stronger than two sisters," she adds in a promo video. Sophie, who has two small children with former Carlton AFL player Jaryd Cachia, is dating women's basketball player Maddie Garrick. She talked about the different hardships she's experienced in her personal and professional life towards the end of last year.

"In 2013, I fell pregnant at 22 years old and a family friend asked to my face, 'oh I'm so sorry.. how would Jaryd take it?' because surely J would desert me - the knocked up tart - and my life would shrivel away as a young Mum who dropped out of uni & lost her path," she posted on Instagram.

"Eight years later, I've upheld the promise I made to that little baby in my womb all those years ago. I've established an 8-figure company, had multi-year agreements with terrific companies that believe in me, and last night I took 16 business associates out to dinner to congratulate them for a fantastic year in 2021 "She said.

 Kate Austin

Kate is Sophie's sister, and she is all ready to be giving it her all. She's already given viewers a preview of what's to come. "You'll witness clashes, some very beautiful moments, and some heartbreaking moments," she adds in a recent teaser trailer.

Shayelle Lajoie

Shayelle, a surfer and yoga instructor, has plenty of balance abilities ready for Survivor-style tasks. According to her Instagram account, she is a biomedical student at the University of Sunshine Coast, which has 46,000 followers. She'll compete with her boyfriend, Ben Watson.

Ben Watson

As a professional photographer, Ben is frequently behind the lens, but this will not be the case on Survivor. He's also tried his hand at becoming an influencer, posing in shots with Shayelle on social media. "We just want to see the final objective, which is either of us winning – mostly me," Ben says in a new show promo, suggesting he's got his sights set on the prize. In another scene, he chuckles and says, "Please don't show her that."
