Summer of '42

A 1971 American coming-of-age movie, Summer of '42, is based on the biographies of screenwriter Herman "Hermie" Raucher. It recounts the tale of how Raucher, in his early teens on his 1942 summer break on Nantucket Island, ventures on a one-sided affair with a young woman, Dorothy, whose spouse has gone off to battle in World War II. The movie was produced by Robert Mulligan and starred Gary Grimes as Hermie, Jerry Houser as his best pal Oscar, Oliver Conant as their nerdy youthful friend, Benjie, and Jennifer O'Neill, the perplexing woman with whom they are Katherine Allentuck, and Christopher Norris are girls whom Hermie and Oscar attempt to seduce in supporting roles. Mulligan furthermore has an uncredited narrator position as the representative of the adult Hermie. Maureen Stapleton (Allentuck's mother) appears in a small, uncredited voice role.

Summer Of 42 Cast Where Are They Now?

1) Jennifer O'Neill as Dorothy

Jennifer hasn't worked on any projects since 2016, which could indicate that she's taken a long hiatus or is considering retiring for good, despite the fact that her bio still identifies her as active. It's difficult to say what she plans to do with the rest of her career, but given that she's in her 70s and lives on a horse ranch, it's safe to assume she's having a good time and isn't thinking about returning in a big way, which is understandable.

Grimes was born in the city of San Francisco in the state of California. Rudy Solari, an actor, was his uncle. Grimes only featured in six films before retiring from acting in the late 1970s (except for an episode of Matt Houston in 1983). He currently resides in Los Angeles and works for a nonprofit organisation, therefore he has remained out of the public eye since then. In 2011, Grimes told American Profile magazine, "I got to the point where the work wasn't up to the standard that I wanted." "I'm quite pleased with my selection."
