Shattila Ekadashi Vrat Katha
Lord Vishnu narrated the significance of the Shattila Ekadashi Vrat to Devarshi Narada Muni, according to one of the Kathas. The Lord revealed that an elderly Brahmin widow observed a vrat for a month as a mark of respect. She was a devout follower of Lord Vishnu, who would engage in rigorous penance and austerities. On the other hand, she failed to donate food and other necessities to charity. Lord Vishnu once came to her disguised as a poor man and asked for alms. The Brahmani, on the other hand, chose to hand over a fistful of mud. The Brahmani died a few days later and was allowed to visit Vaikuntha Dham (the heavenly abode of Lord Vishnu). She did, however, come across an empty house and a single mango tree. Despite her devotion to the Lord, the Brahmani wondered why she punished her. Because she did not do charity, the Lord replied that she found an empty house. She also gave him a fistful of mud when she had the opportunity to serve him. As a result, the Lord told her to wait for the Dev Kanyas and learn the Shattila Ekadashi Vrat vidhi. Finally, the Brahmani completed the vrat according to the Vidhi and was lavished with everything she required.
