Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon and mother of Ranni the Witch, is the fourth and last big boss you'll encounter in Elden Ring. After overcoming Margit, the Fell Omen, Godrick the Grafted, and Red Wolf of Radagon, the demigod sorceress will be your final opponent. The fight can be challenging, but you'll have her crying for help in no time with the perfect strategy. Rennala may be found at Raya Lucaria Academy's Grand Library, which can be reached by using the elevator behind Moongrum, Carian Knight. How to Prepare to Beat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon?

You'll find yourself coming in on Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, soon after battling the Red Wolf of Redagon. Rennala isn't quite as complicated, tricky, or quick as the other enemies you've defeated so far, so feel relieved. The only true preparation we would suggest is wearing armor with a high magic defense. If you're a magic-user, make sure you have a melee weapon on hand for the opening part of the encounter and memorize Rock Sling to bring Rennala out swiftly.

How To Beat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon?

Phase 1

The Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon's initial stage, takes place in a vast, spherical library. The boss will be hanging in mid-air with a shield around him. You'll need the Queen's followers, who are blazing yellow and hurling purple books at you, to shatter it and start causing damage. They're rather obvious, but if you can't find them, look at the path the books are flowing from. You only need to hit three of these followers with a single attack; killing them isn't required.

When three of these followers have been shot, the Queen's shield will shatter, and she will fall to the ground. This is your chance to go after her. Proceed to land as many strikes as you can, but be aware that she will let off a tiny blast when the boss is about to return to her shield. When she begins to glow yellow, you know she's powering up. When you notice this, make a hasty retreat.

You must now repeat this method until the Queen's health bar is completely reduced. Find the three followers, attack them, and then return to attacking the boss. After three attack stages, you should be able to complete this level. The chandeliers dropping from the roof and the trash the Queen throws at you are the only other things you should be concerned about during this period. The former is easy to identify as drips of fire fall from the roof, but the latter is harder to observe because you'll be so preoccupied with discovering the followers.

Phase 2

The start of Phase 2 will be signaled by a cutscene. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, is presently standing in a pool of water with a moon hanging overhead, and she is using her mystical talents. You'll have to avoid oncoming magical attacks such as freezing crystals and magic spears. It's quite simple to learn their timings, so get in the habit of avoiding them, and they won't be an issue. A green flash of magic that chases you around the arena is yet another attack to be aware of. This is hugely potent and has the potential to kill you right where you are. Dodge to either side and start sprinting before the Queen triggers it.

If you have the Hookclaws, equip them for offensive purposes. The passive impact of this weapon increases the boss's vulnerability to Bleeding. The weapon's basic damage isn't exceptionally high, but triggering Bleed damage wipes out large portions of HP at once. Use them in conjunction with an Ashes summon, such as Lone Wolf Ashes, to divert her. She'll even direct some of her magical attacks at them rather than you. This gives you more time to hit and deal Bleed damage.

She'll start summoning her own Ashes when you've taken out more than half of the boss's health. A dragon, a giant, and a group of wolves are among them. The best advice we can give is to simply flee. Sprint around the arena so they can't catch up to you, but make sure to maneuver so you can return to fighting the monster. Since the enemy Ashes don't stay around for long, they may be gone by the time you return to the boss.

Rennala Queen of the Full Moon Rewards

Beating the Queen of the Full Moon will reward you with 40,000 runes as well as the Great Rune of the Unborn and Memories of the Full Moon Queen, two valuable artifacts. But, maybe more crucially, after your struggle with Rennala, you'll be able to communicate with her.
