Halloween’s this year event features three mini events throughout the course of the overarching Ghost theme where you and other trainers will be able to participate in exclusive Timed Research that will have exclusive rewards. Here you will be able to complete Special Research to help Professor Willow uncover mysteries surrounding Pokemon.
Alongwith that they have to complete Field Research tasks which may lead you to encounter Spiritomb with the chance of encountering a Shiny one as well.

Pokemon Go Halloween Event

Pokemon Go Halloween Event starts from 23rd October, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. (GMT −7) Tuesday to 3rd November, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
Just like last year, this year also there will be Pokemon GO Special Research for this Halloween event called A Spooky Message Unmasked where you'll be able to get to grab the Galarian Yamask by helping out Professor Willow during his investigations. The Players will be provided with the opportunity to nab a Spiritomb as an added treat with a Shiny version.

Alolan Marowak Raid Day: On 31st October, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Alolan Marowak will be appearing more often in raids.
Catch Mastery: Ghost Day: On 25th October, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Ghost-type Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild and there will be event-exclusive Timed Research.
GO Battle League: Halloween Cup: From Monday i.e. 26th October, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Tuesday i.e. 3rd November, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., the Halloween Cup will be live in the GO Battle League.
