Missing Yakima Boy

In a news release, the Yakima Police Department confirmed that 5-year-old Lucian Munguia, who has been missing since September 10, 2022, is the body that was found in the Yakima River. On September 10, Lucian was last spotted at Sarg Hubbard Park. The kid was last seen leaving his parents' side and walking southeast from the park's parking lot, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Lucian Found Dead

The body of Lucian Munguia, the young man who vanished from a park in Yakima in September, has been discovered. On September 10, Lucian vanished from Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima. He had just turned five years old. The boy's parents celebrated his fifth birthday without him after searching the park and the neighborhood around it for him. Amy Bailey, Lucian's aunt, wrote about the situation on Facebook on Friday:

"We regret to inform all of you that Lucian has been found but unfortunately it was with tragic news. Our hearts are forever broken and we will never be the same. The family will be unavailable at this time and we will not be answering any questions. We thank you all for the support and love you gave to us and more importantly to Lucian. We are forever grateful for the help you all were. Please refrain from contacting the family with questions at this time. Please respect the families wishes for their need for private time to process this. Thank you all very much."

Lucian Munguia Update

Detectives located the skeleton remained in the Yakima River on December 30 and took pictures of the site before performing an autopsy. The coroner's office and detectives were able to identify the remains as being Lucian's after comparing dental records, according to the police. According to the police, there is no evidence that Lucian's death was caused by illegal activity. When the findings of the DNA testing are ready, the Yakima Police Department says it will give more information.
