Madison Maine Car Accident: Child Killed and Others Seriously Injured

Route 148 was closed for more than an hour because of a fatal vehicle crash that happened on Route 148 (Madison) on Thursday.

A fatal vehicle crash occurred on Route 148 (Madison) around 11:10 p.m (on Thursday).

Somerset County Sheriff’s Office released news on Friday; the news is as follows,

Robert Simonds (30), the driver of the vehicle, was driving west of route 148 when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree. There were 4 passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, a 28-year-old mother and her three children.

The deputies said that 7-year-old one of the 4 passengers died, while the 9-year-old was injured, and the 18-month-old was critically injured. Route 148 was closed for more than an hour, according to Deputies.

The reason for the crash is under investigation.
