Love Actually Cast
BILL NIGHY

Billy Mack is the first character we encounter in Love Actually, and he continues to be one of the most memorable. He's a crusty old rocker who's making a return with a holiday hit he despises. Billy is one of the most memorable characters, owing to his credible portrayal as a music business champion who had always been too busy partying to find true love outside of Joe, his hard-working manager.
Bill Nighy was and continues to be, one of the most well-known performers in the United Kingdom prior to Love Actually. He's been in About Time, Pride, and The Kindness of Strangers since the 2003 blockbuster, but he has a long list of award-winning parts behind him.
EMMA THOMPSON

Our lovely, bereft angel. Karen, the unsung hero of the film, is played by Emma Thompson, who is dealing with the mental strain of Christmas alone. She has two young children, a lobster costume to design, a close friend who just lost his wife, a political brother who won't answer her calls, and a sleazy, cheating husband to deal with. It's no surprise that she's one of the film's most beloved characters; her jumbled tale is all too real at this time of year, even without the infidelity.
Since bringing Karen to life, Emma has remained a cinematic and stage favorite. She has appeared in films such as Late Night, Last Christmas, and Cruella de Vil. She'll soon be seen in a cinematic adaption of Matilda the Musical as Ms. Trunchbull.
ALAN RICKMAN

The fact that we continue to loathe Alan Rickman's character, Harry, is a tribute to what a fantastic actor he was. Alan played Karen's husband, whose gaze was drawn to his new secretary, Mia, just before the holidays. Alan Rickman was recognized for playing legendary villains, like Hans Gruber in Die Hard and Severus Snape in the Harry Potter trilogy. Unfortunately, Alan died in 2016 after only revealing to his closest friends that he had terminal cancer.
HUGH GRANT

We're not sure how prime minister David felt about his position as a politician, considering his tiny international issue over a girl, as sweet as his love story with employee Natalie was in the film.
Nonetheless, Hugh Grant shone brightly in Love Actually, giving us one of the most memorable dance moments of the early 2000s. Of course, he was already a well-known actor for his romantic comedy roles prior to Love Actually, and he stuck around for a long. He's now come open about his penchant for playing the villain, though.
LIAM NEESON

The Liam Neeson’s taken-style parenting vibes started in Love Actually. As a dedicated stepfather to little Sam, his continued support and encouragement help to warm the hearts of our icy hearts each Christmas. Another big name for the film was Liam Nesson. While he is new to rom-coms, he enjoyed his role as dependable Daniel. Recently, we've seen him in films such as honest thief, the marksman, and the icy road.
COLIN FIRTH

The fleet of foppish romantic comedy protagonists continues with Colin Firth as Jamie, the unlucky in love novelist who falls for Aurelia, the Portuguese housekeeper at his French chateau. Because they didn't speak the same language, their ethnic melting pot romance was based primarily on vibes; even when Jamie learned Portuguese, his efforts were miserable. However, his unforgettable public proposal in the film would cause ladies all across the world to repeat the sentence "yes is being my answer" to their televisions during December.
Colin Firth will always be Mr. Darcy from the 1995 miniseries adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in our thoughts and hearts. He has done much more, though, most notably appearing in the kingsman and mamma mia franchises, as well as films such as the secret garden and supernova, and even receiving an Oscar for his part in King’s speech.
KEIRA KNIGHTLEY

Keira was only 18 years old when she featured in Love Actually. It is strange because she married within the first few minutes of the film. She portrayed Juliet, the new wife of Chiwetel Ejiofor's character Peter, as well as the recipient of his buddy Mark's love.
Since then, Kiera Knightley's fame has only risen. She portrayed Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean and Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. She has also appeared in Being Again, Never Let Me Go, The Imitation Game, and a slew of more films.
CHIWETEL EJIOFOR

If Emma Thompson is the film's unsung hero, Chiwetel Ejiofor is its breakout star. Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Peter in the film, did not have a prominent role, but he has since gone on to become a well-known actor. At the 2013 Academy Awards, he was nominated for best actor for his part in 12 Years a Slave, which also won the best picture. He also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Karl Mordo in the Dr. Strange movie. It's strange to believe that his performance in Love Actually was the first to give him the career he has now.
LAURA LINNEY

Sarah, who survived having her love rejected by her coworker, Karl, was always a Love Actually favorite. While we may have yelled at her in 2003 for not picking up her phone and continuing to make out with Adonis designer from her office, following years have seen a softening for her character, who cares profoundly for others around her, especially her ailing brother. Plus, Karl didn't have to abandon her. He is the true villain in this situation.
Laura Linney, who was so excellent in Love Actually, was just another lure for the already incredibly great group. She has acted in films such as The Truman Show in 1998, and Mr. Holmes and Nocturnal Animals in the years afterward. She's also a regular on the popular series Ozark.
THOMAS BRODIE-SANGSTER

I don't intend to surprise you, but Sam, the vivacious and endearing character, is now 31 years old. Daniel’s (Liam Neeson) stepson steals the show with his efforts to get his classmate, Joanna, to fall in love with him. His overall plan included his learning an instrument as well as learning a lot about love along the road.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster has had a number of interesting roles since Love Actually. He played Paul McCartney in Nowhere Boy and also played Jojen Reed on the hit HBO show Game of Thrones. He was most recently seen in The Maze Runner franchise and The Queen's Gambit, a successful Netflix series.
