47 Chinese Apps banned in India
According to various media reports, the decision to ban the 47 Chinese apps was taken after a security review by the Telecom Ministry. Some of these include TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, ShareIt Lite, Bigo Lite, and VFY Lite, all reportedly unavailable at the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. More than 275 Chinese apps are under scrutiny for alleged breaches of national security and the privacy of citizens.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) had previously issued a warning to the 59 banned Chinese apps that they would strictly comply with the government's order or face legal action.
Chinese Apps banned
As per the government source, India has also prepared a list of over 250 Chinese apps, including Alibaba-linked apps, that it will examine for any user privacy or national security violations. Some top Chinese gaming applications are also expected to be banned in the new list being compiled, sources said. The Chinese applications allegedly shared data with the Chinese agencies, which are under review.

The ban came with Chinese troops in the backdrop of stand-off along the Line of Actual Control in east Ladakh. Earlier the Government banned 59 Chinese apps which include TikTok, WeChat, and UC Browser.
