On 14th April 2001, the Animal Crossing video game was made available to the public in Japan for Nintendo 64 users. It was updated and got released on the GameCube in the same year. This version of the Animal Crossing was released in North America on 16th September 2002. The similar version of Animal Crossing was also released in Europe and in Australia. After the game got popular, the developers of the game created an extended version of the Animal Crossing which was then titled as "Dōbutsu no Mori e+". It was released to the public on 27th June 2003 in Japan. Till now, five Animal Crossing games have been released globally, one each for the Nintendo 64/iQue Player, Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. In this game, the player is portrayed as a human who lives in a village, where various anthropomorphic animals make their living. How Do You Become Friends On Animal Crossing?

From day 2 of Animal Crossing, you can invite friends or add friends to the friends list. To do that, you need to go to the Dodo Airlines airport and talk to the Dodo bird named Orville which stands behind the counter.

You need to select the option “I want visitors”.
After selecting that option, you will then be asked if you want visitors for local or online play. Please select “online play”
Afterwards, the Dodo bird Orville will ask “you who you wish to invite”.
You will be able to open your gate only for your Nintendo Switch friends. To look at your list of Nintendo Switch friends, select “All my friends”.
If you wish to invite people who aren’t in your Nintendo Switch Friends list then select “Invite via Dodo Code”.
Proceed to select “The more the merrier” option.
Then select “Yeah, invite anyone”.

The gate will be opened now and Orville, the Dodo bird, will give you a temporary five letter Dodo code. You can also share your Dodo code online in social media to get more friends.

There are three types of multiplayer modes in Animal Crossing: Local couch co-op, online play, and local wireless.

Couch Co-op: Using this mode you can play with at most eight players. Although, a maximum of four players can only play on the same island at a time.
Online Co-op: Using this mode uses the internet and allows players to visit other islands. Again up to eight players can only be on one island at once.
Local Wireless Co-op: This mode is specifically made for players who are physically close to each other, and each have their own Switch, also their own copy of New Horizons. Maximum eight players can play on the same island.
