Ghati Subramanya Temple

According to the ancient script, Lord Karthikeya and Lord Narasimha are believed to have been born on earth. The temple also acts as an essential spot in South India for worshipping the Hindu deity Kethu. On the occasion of Brahmarathotsava (the day of Pushya Shuddha Shasti), special rituals will be performed in the temple. Another major festival celebrated in this temple is Narasimha Jayanti. The Ghati Subramanya temple has a recorded history of over 600 years. Initially, the temple was developed by the Ghorpade rulers of Sandur, who ruled parts of the Bellary. There is a belief that the childless couples making vows in this temple will be blessed with a child by the Lord. There are more than thousands of statues of snakes near the temple. The statue of Lord Kartikeya having seven-headed cobras was made from a single stone. On the rear of the stone is the carving of Lord Narasimha. Lord Karthikeya’s statue faces eastwards, and the idol of Lord Narasimha faces westwards. For the people to see both the deities, the temple management has placed a large mirror in the rear in the sanctum sanctorum. To know the Ghati Subramanya Temple Timings, scroll down further.
