The hard-pounding drummer for multi-platinum rock band Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, died Friday. He was 50. Hawkins was in Bogotá, Colombia, to serve with the Foo Fighters two evenings before the band’s headlining set at Lollapalooza, Brazil. The news was announced on the Foo Fighters Instagram account. “This band family is heartbroken by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the announcement read. Our feelings and these hard hearts go back to his families for whom this would definitely be an irreparable loss."

Oliver Taylor Hawkins was born on February 17, 1972, and died on  March 25, 2022. He was an instrumentalist from the United States. He is best known as the drummer for the Foo Fighters, a rock band. He was the touring drummer for Sass Jordan and Alanis Morissette before joining the band in 1997 and the drummer in Sylvia's progressive experimental band. Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, a side project he played drums and sang, was formed in 2004. In 2005, the United Kingdom drumming magazine Rhythm named him "Best Rock Drummer."
