Despicable Me 2 is a computer-animated comedy film released in 2013 by Universal Pictures and produced by Illumination Entertainment. It is the follow-up to Despicable Me (2010) and the sequel to the Despicable Me franchise. Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, and Ken Jeong star in the picture, which is directed by Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin and written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.

Despicable Me 2 was released on June 5, 2013 in Australia, and on July 3, 2013 in the United States. The film garnered mostly good critical reviews and grossed $970.8 million worldwide, making it the third-highest-grossing picture of 2013. The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (for "Happy") at the 86th Academy Awards, but lost both to Walt Disney Animation Studios' Frozen (2013). The picture is also Universal Pictures' most profitable in its 101-year history. Despicable Me 3 (2017) was released after Despicable Me 2, with Minions following in 2015.

Despicable Me 2 Plot
