Bahrain gained independence by signing a friendship treaty with the United Kingdom, which ended earlier accords between the two countries. Bangladesh Victory Day is more commonly known as Bijoy Dibos and is observed to celebrate the victory of Bangladesh and India over Pakistan in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Though Bangladesh celebrates its Independence Day on March 26, it is on December 16th that the atrocities of this war ended.
