The popular duo announced their separation after 20 years together. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn said that after 20 years of making music and riding that trail together, they had agreed as a duo that it was time to call it a day. They added that the ride was everything and more than they could ever have dreamed, and they owe it all to the fans. He advised fans not to believe rumors.

Brooks & Dunn Album

The duo released one final album on September 8, 2009, named #1’s … And Then Some. In Nashville, Brooks & Dunn set out the Last Rodeo Tour and performed the last show on September 3, 2010, despite their claims that there was no animosity between the two. But the duo said that compromising was tough, with the end of the act almost coming a decade earlier. The tension between Dunn & Brooks went thick in the late 1990s. Brooks & Dunn reunited for a new album in the studio. The album is called Reboot, which featured the two putting a new spin on their old hits in re-recordings with the country singers' younger generation. In April 2019, Reboot debuted at No. 1. And they announced plans to reunite in January 2020 for a tour around the project, the 2020 Reboot Tour. That tour got postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
