WWE News: Is William Regal Returning To WWE?
At the end of the year, William Regal is set to leave AEW. Just over the phone, the two personalities, Elite President and CEO Tony Khan, were discussing his future and confirmed the same. AEW's chief legal officer, Megha Parekh, also discussed William Regal's exit. He mentioned that he does not renew his contract for 2023 with Khan. The Gentleman Villain wanted to return to WWE to work alongside his son Charlie Dempsey. As per the reports, William Regal is not set to return to an active role but will in a backstage presence.

Who Is William Regal?
In WWE, The former NXT General Manager William Regal spent nearly two decades, and he is best known for his time working for them. He is having a new deal with WWE in the middle of penning down the final bits. It is noted that Tony Khan also confirmed Regal's departure during the Ring of Honor Final Battle Media Call. "William Regal requested at the end of the year not to renew his contract by approaching AEW. Hence he could spend time coaching his son and return back to WWE." As per sources, he will return after the turn of the year.
William Regal Shocking Release
William Regal was the last person in 2022 fans had marked for a release from WWE. This year his departure in January sent shockwaves across the wrestling world. After 21 glorious years, Regal was released with Vince McMahon and company. Many fans and superstars thanked him for his contributions, help, and services, and they paid tribute to the legend. Also, William took to Twitter to thank WWE. He stated, "Thank you to @WWE for a great 21-year run. You gave me a happy lad, and I had a charmed life for 21 years. No complaints, and kindly, no one waste time replying as I won't have a bad impact said against the company." Also, if he returns, he will reunite with longtime friend Triple H.
