Who Is Maina Kiai?
Maina Kiai is a lawyer and human rights activist from Kenya. He has earlier served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association from 1st May 2011, to 30th April 2017. Since 2018, he has been the head of the Human Rights Watch's Alliances and Partnerships program. Maina Kiai is the co-founder of the local Kenyan NGO InformAction, which uses a multimedia approach, that aims to educate the citizens of Kenyans about their basic human rights.
