Boris Franz Becker is a former No.1 Tennis player from Germany. He had been successful from the beginning of his career and won six Grand Slam singles when he was 17 years old. He got Grand Slam singles titles in three Wimbledon Championships, two Australian Opens, and one US Open. He is the winner of the won three year-end championships, an Olympic gold medal in doubles, and 13 Masters Series titles. He has been voted the Player of the Year by both the ITF and ATP in 1989.

His father Karl-Heinz was an architect, who started a tennis center in Leimen, where Becker learned to play tennis. He studied his secondary education at Helmholtz-Gymnasium in Heidelberg. His mother was of Czech ancestry and was a native of the Moravian village of Kunín. Currently, he lives in London in England. In 1984, he became a professional under the guidance of the Günther Bosch, who was a Romanian-born coach.

Later, he won the first German Youth Tennis Tournament and South German championship. He was selected as the German Tennis Federation’s top Junior team by Richard Schonborn in 1978. He joined the Federation's first men's team in 1981. He won the doubles in the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships, in 1982. He retired from the game on 25th June 1999.
