Aditya Puri was the Managing Director of HDFC Bank, India's largest private sector bank. He is a Senior Advisor at the Carlyle Group. He assumed the position in September 1994 with the vision of creating a "world-class Indian Bank." Puri was the longest-serving head of a private bank in the country. India Today ranked 24th in the 50 Most Powerful People in India in 2017. He worked in the banks for 40 years in India and other countries. In 1992, he became the CEO of Citibank Malaysia.
