Both Jim and Pam are extremely happy about their new relationship. Dwight shows interest in Andy, when his relationship with Angela, breaks. Jim shows sympathy towards Dwight, because of his own story with Pam. They strengthen their relationship after the pair faced many difficulties. They are the most stable couple in the office. When Pam tries to set Michael up with her landlady, she says that she is not having the idea to go with a man, who is not engaged. In an episode, Jim comes up with the engagement ring he bought, for dating Pam. He was not joking about wanting to marry her.
Jim Misses Proposing
Jim gives an ordinary request that sets them proposals in the next few days. The significance of the workplace for their relationship is recognized by Pam and Jim at the time of advising Michael. Jim makes a plan to propose to her, at the time of Toby’s going away party. He pays some money to Phyllis to buy fireworks for the party as a method of showing the first date and Pam had back in “The Client”. At the firework show, Jim gets away to a distance to take out the ring from his pocket. At that time, Andy proposes to Angela in the function. Thinking that moment is not suitable, Jim doesn't propose, making Pam disappointed.

Jim decided to go to Philadelphia again to fix their problems. Jim forgets his Umbrella, then Pam takes the umbrella and reaches after him. Pam makes a hug and gives the umbrella. This scene shows the emotional bond and says about the importance of the marriage relationship. The scene is shown how both realize this concept the importance of marriage. She hears what Jim and his friend talk about. In that, she comes to know that Athlead had a buyer who gives them large money to throw out the company for 3 months. Finally, Jim offers her note, she reads it and understands once and how important she is to him.
