According to court documents, Frank Fritz last appeared on the show during a March 2020 episode before he took time off to recover from painful back surgery. Mike was the one who publicly disclosed that Frank had been booted from the show in July 2021.
"Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz's decision-making capacity is so harmed that he is unable to care for his safety or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care," states a petition for guardianship filed in August. Frank is also "unable to communicate or carry out necessary decisions concerning his financial affairs."

Why Was Frank Fired From American Pickers?
Finally, in July 2021, Frank Fritz appeared and broke his silence, explaining, " It's totally up to the network whether I come back on the show," he said. "I didn't leave the show. I finished shooting, and then I had a minor back surgery, and the pandemic came." Frank's stroke came one year after being fired from his American Pickers role.
He last appeared on the show during a March 2020 episode before he accepted time off to recover from a painful back surgery that left him with 185 stitches and two rods in his spine. Mike was the one who publicly revealed that Frank had been dismissed from the show in July 2021. Although they were childhood friends, Frank announced to The U.S. Sun that Mike had not reached out to him since he was fired from the show.
