Donald Fisher is one of the fictional characters in the TV soap opera Home and Away. This character was played by the actor Norman Coburn in a continuous role from the soap's initiation in 1988 to 2003. Donald Fisher acts as the major antagonist in the show's pilot episode, but his character soon alleviates. He employs almost his full tenure on the show as the Principal of Summer Bay, where he is sober but good to all the students. In Episode 2753, Donald heard the news that Byron had passed away due to an infection. Before going to the US, Donald was informed that Marilyn, who had been put below solemn after Byron's death, had again gone missing. After his arrival, he knew that Marilyn had become close to one of the hospital chaplains, Father MacGuire. She asked if he would provide a service if anything must happen to Byron. Honoring Marilyn's absent wishes, Byron was put to rest in the US with only Donald and Colleen's cousin Charlie present. As per backtothebay.net, Donald explained the service as beautiful on a snowy day with a mass of flowers from everyone at the hospital who knew Byron. On his return home, Donald got a letter from Marilyn, telling that it would be too painful for her to return to Australia and be there because of their happy life with Byron, gradually ending their marriage.
