Dametrius "Meechie" Walker passed Friday after a two-year battle with osteosarcoma, a kind of bone cancer, the school announced. In the year November 2020, Walker was diagnosed with osteosarcoma after seeing a bump on his knee. Walker endured surgery and nine months of chemotherapy, but the cancer returned in 2021. By April 2021, the tumor had developed too large, and doctors had amputated his left leg. Unfortunately, the cancer extended despite Walker's tumor and leg removal.
