Abercrombie & Fitch was started in 1892 in New York City, by David T.Abercrombie. Later, Ezra Fitch, who was a real estate developer and wealthy lawyer bought a significant interest in the business in 1900. and devoted customer of the Abercrombie Company—bought a portion of interest in the business in 1900. In 1904, the company was renamed "Abercrombie & Fitch Co." Fitch bought the share of Abercrombie of the business becoming the sole owner from the year 1907 to 1928. In 2012, the company told the plans that it would open the Abercrombie Kids shop at No. 3 on Savile Row. The Tailors in that area criticized and opposed the decision. The tailors were unhappy as the company’s store was on Burlington Gardens at the end of the Row. A protest was organized by The Chap magazine on 23rd April 2012. The Objections were lodged to Westminster City Council and in February 2013 the Council rejected many of the company's proposals for the store, and told the entire plan was "utterly unacceptable.” The company managed to face the obstacles and opened the store in September 2014. The following year, the company was subjected to £16,000 in fines and legal costs.
