Aikyashree Scholarship is a West Bengal Minorities Development Finance Corporation initiative by the West Bengal Government is primarily to provide financial support and encouragement to the meritorious and deserving students belonging to the minority communities. Aikyashree Scholarship, a West Bengal State Government initiative, in order to address the growing aspiration for knowledge and education in the minority and financially backward communities and to motivate the deserving and talented children belonging to these communities, the Aiksyashree scholarship was introduced. Under the Aikyashree scholarship which is fully funded by the West Bengal State Government,  the entire educational expenses including the hostel stay fees will be free of cost for meritorious and deserving students of schools and colleges, coming from financially poor backgrounds and those who belong to the minority community. There are three types of Scholarships under the Aikyashree Scholarship 2020-21 scheme for all meritorious and deserving students.

What are the Aikyashree Scholarship Objectives?

The foremost objective of the Aikyashree Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to well-deserving students of West Bengal. WBMDFC (West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation) concerns a scholarship program called Aikyashree. Mainly the minority students in Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhists, and Jains in West Bengal are offered educational opportunities and socio-economic benefits.

  • Pre-matric Scholarship ( for students from Class-I to Class-X): The primary objective of the Pre-matric Scholarship is to motivate and encourage the minority communities to send their children to schools and to prevent drop-out.

  • Post-matric Scholarship (for students from Class-XI to Ph. D): The Post-matric scholarship aims to encourage students to continue their pursuit of higher education.

  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (for pursuing technical & professional courses): The main aim of Merit-cum-Means scholarship for professional and technical courses is to encourage and support the students to pursue professional/technical studies for increasing their skills to enhance their employability in many official capacities.

What Are The Eligibility Criteria For Aikyashree Scholarship 2020-2021?

  • For Pre-matric Scholarship, and  Post-matric Scholarship (schools and college students) 

    • Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.

    • Should be studying in a School/ Institution recognized by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.

    • Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.

    • Annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh.

    • School and College Students studying in institutes outside West Bengal will not be eligible for the pre-matric or post-matric scholarships.

  •  For Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (students pursuing professional and technical courses)

    • The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

    • Should have got admission in a technical/professional course.

    • Should have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.

    • The yearly family income of the student should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakh.

    • The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as updated and notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities' Development and Finance Corporation, are eligible for applying.

  • For Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship in West Bengal

    • The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

    • The applicant should be female

    • Applicants must have completed class 12th from any board.

    • Students must be looking for pursuing higher education only in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, or Basic Science at any well-known institution in West Bengal.

  • For Hindi Scholarship Scheme in West Bengal

    • The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.

    • The applicant must be from a non-Hindi speaking state.

    • The students need to have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying exams (First trail), along with Hindi as one of the subjects. 

    • The applicant needs to have passed any one of the degree courses given here- Madhyamik, higher secondary, graduation, PG or any equivalent degree course

  • For Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)

    • The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. 

    • The applicant must be pursuing studies in class 11 or 12.

    • OR

    • The applicant needs to be pursuing graduation in Engineering, Medical, and Technical/Professional courses if they are not taking general Undergraduate or Postgraduate level degree courses.

    • Notice that if the pupil is studying at the higher secondary level or is pursuing a diploma, then the student needs to have achieved at least 75% marks in class 10th.

    • Otherwise, if the student is studying at the UG level, then the student must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in class 12th.

    • Also, very importantly the yearly income of the student family should not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh.

    • On the basis of merit-cum-means criteria, the mentioned scholarships will be sanctioned to well-deserving students.

    • The applicants pursuing M.Phil. courses and Doctoral courses of state-aided institutions can also apply for this scholarship.

What is the Selection Procedure for Aikyashree Scholarship 2020-21?

Aikyashree is a grant program under WBMDFC (West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation), which is expected to help to merit students(at both school and college level) of West Bengal. Step 1- Student Registration

  2. Select "New registration".

  3. Then choose the district of your institute

  4. You need to then give in the details such as your name, DOB, Guardians Name, District, Email ID, Mobile Number, and Bank Account Number in the given registration form.

  5. Then tap on Submit and Proceed.

Step 2- Eligibility of the Scheme

  1. You need to give in the details such as the current institution, location, class/ course name, the last passed exam, name of the board, percentage marks obtained, year of passing the last exam, annual family income, and email ID on the webpage of the scheme eligibility column.

  2. Before submitting check the details very carefully and then tap on the Submit & Proceed tab.

Step 3- Completion Of Registration

  1. You will get a temporary User ID after the above steps are completed.

  2. You will get the password in your email or inbox.

Step 4- Login for Scholarship

  1. You need to then log in using User Id and Password in the Student Log-In Window.

  2. You need to give the basic, academic, bank account information.

  3. You need to change the password for security and tap on Submit.

Step 5- Final submission

  1. Give in the Basic Information option and click on Submit and Proceed

  2. Give in the Academic Information option and click on Submit and Proceed

  3. Give in the Bank Account Information option and verify the details by selecting the preview tab.

  4. Finally, click on the "Final Submit" tab.

Step 6- Verifying and taking Print out

  1. The details that you have embedded in the previous step needs to be carefully seen.

  2. Once you are sure that the information given is right, take a print out of the same.

  3. You can finally submit the form at the respective institute with a photocopy of your bank passbook including your bank account number and IFSC Code.

If in case, you want to renew the application process for the Aikyashree Scholarship, you can follow the below-given steps.

  1. Visit the official website for Pre-Matric, Post Matric, MCM, TSP, SVMCM scholarship

  2. Click on "Renewal application" to go to a new window.

  3. Choose your district and then select ok on the dialogue box on the screen.

  4. You need to then log in by entering the application ID, DOB, district, and Captcha code.

  5. You need to then click "Login" to get an OTP to your registered mobile number. 

  6. Enter the OTP and submit. Click on the renew option.

  7. Give in all the details that are asked and click on "Submit and Next".

  8. Once you click, you can then verify your bank details, tick the confirmation box.

  9. Click on "Submit and Next"

  10. You need to upload all the necessary documents.

  11. Submit the application form.

  12. Prior to final submission, check the details.

  13. Click the "Submit and Lock Renewal Application"

  14. Click "Ok", if the details furnished are all right.

  15. Finally, to get your printout, you just need to click on the "Print Renewal Application".
