What is UPI Transaction Limit?
NPCI sets the UPI transaction limit. It is the maximum amount of money that can be sent through UPI per day. RBI regulates the NPCI, and for now, it has set the UPI transaction limit as Rs. 1 lakh per transaction. Banks can set their UPI transaction limit within the sum of Rs.1 lakh. So each bank will have its own UPI transaction limit which will be within Rs. 1 lakh. E.g. SBI has a limit of Rs.1 lakh, but Bank of Baroda has a limit of Rs. 50,000.
UPI Transaction Limit Per Month
Mostly Banks have not set a UPI transaction limit per month. There are few like IDFC bank which has set a UPI transaction limit of Rs.30,00,000 per month.
UPI Transaction Limit Per Week
Similarly, banks have also set UPI transactions per week as per their own discretion. E.g. SBI has not set any limit while IDFC has.
SBI UPI Transaction Limit
The UPI transaction limit for SBI is Rs.1,00,000 as regulated by the NPCI. SBI does not have a weekly or monthly UPI transaction limit
ICICI UPI Transaction Limit
For ICICI UPI transaction limit per day is Rs.10,000. This is subject to change as per the bank’s policies. The bank does not have a weekly or monthly UPI transaction limit.
How Many UPI Transactions are Free?
There are 20 free transactions per month. After that, you will be required to pay Rs. 2.5 for transactions equal to or under Rs1000, and Rs.5 for transactions above Rs. 1000. Added to this 18% GST will also be charged on them.
