Tough Enough

WWE Tough Enough is a professional wrestling reality television series created by WWE in which contestants compete for a contract with WWE after undergoing professional wrestling training. There stood two champions per season for the first three seasons, which aired on MTV. In 2004, a fourth competition was held, with only one winner featured on UPN's SmackDown! at the moment. Tough Enough was reintroduced by the USA Network in October 2010, and it began airing immediately before Raw on April 4, 2011, one day after WrestleMania XXVII. The original three seasons were co-produced by MTV, and the revival is a Shed Media co-production.

Tough Enough Season 2 Cast Where Are They Now?

1) Maven - New York Night Club Bouncer

Maven was the big male winner of the competition in the first season of Tough Enough. Maven had the potential to win the historic reward of the first ever contract awarded via a reality program, according to WWE. Maven worked on the main roster for a few years, but he never managed to distinguish out among the other wrestlers as he did with the Tough Enough trainees. He was dropped by WWE as they realized he would never improve to the level they desired. Maven wrestled in the independent circuit for a short time before moving on to other projects. Maven's present occupation is as a bouncer in a New York bar.

2) Nidia - Culinary Business/Mother

On the women's side, Nidia was the other winner of a WWE contract courtesy to the inaugural season of Tough Enough. For the inaugural season, WWE needed a winner from each gender, which allowed Nidia to join the business. Nidia's in-ring talent would never grow far enough to make her look competent against the division's top names, such as Trish Stratus and Lita. Nidia had her best run in WWE when she was Jamie Noble's manager in the Cruiserweight Division, where she played the trailer park lovers. Nidia struggled as a face after being switched to Raw and was eventually released in 2004. Nidia's wrestling career came to an end as no other promotions were interested in signing her.

3)  Chris Nowinski - Concussion Legacy Foundation

Chris Nowinski may have been the most talented performer in Tough Enough’s first season. The Harvard graduate used his alma mater to create a heel persona that impressed WWE. Nowinski was signed to a developmental deal despite not winning the competition. The promise was shown with Nowinski getting heel heat on the main roster. WWE had high hopes for his future but concussions would shorten his career. Nowinski retired from wrestling in under two years. The concussions inspired Nowinski to found the Concussion Legacy Foundation. Thanks to this foundation, all sports are taking concussion issues a lot more seriously and they're using funds to research everything associated with it. Nowinski’s work has impacted WWE’s wrestling style and is making professional leagues take head injuries seriously.

4) Josh Mathews - GFW Personality

Josh Mathews was another outstanding character from the first season of Tough Enough. Mathews' zeal and ambition to get into the wrestling business was definitely greater than those of the other competitors. Josh, unfortunately, was the tiniest member of the cast. Mathews impressed enough to get to the finals, but he would eventually lose to Maven and Nidia. Josh was eventually employed as a commentator by WWE because of his diminutive stature and desire to be a part of the spectacle in any manner. Mathews worked as a backstage interviewer, studio host, and commentator for WWE for 12 years. On commentary, most fans recall him going back and forth with Michael Cole. In 2015, Mathews was sacked by WWE and immediately joined with TNA.

5) Jackie Gayda - Owner Of Custom Muscle Nutrition and Smoothie Shop

When it came to developing stars for WWE, the second season of Tough Enough did not fare any better. Jackie Gayda was one of the competition's two winners. From the beginning, it was clear that WWE like Gayda's appearance, which led to her getting the deal. Jackie was immediately put on television by WWE, which turned out to be a terrible mistake. In one of the worst bouts ever, Gayda teamed up with Chris Nowinski to take on Trish Stratus and Bradshaw. WWE demoted her to developing territory, but it didn't help her much. When Jackie returned, she was still really bad, which led to her release. Meeting her husband Charlie Haas was a highlight of her WWE career.

6) Kenny King - ROH Wrestler/ The Bachelorette

The most talented wrestler from Tough Enough Season 2 was obviously Kenny King looking at them today. King’s passion for wrestling saw him continue his dream training until he became a professional wrestler outside of WWE. Ring of Honor signed Kenny and he started to make a strong career, so much so that made most fans forget he was ever even a part of Tough Enough. King worked countless times against the likes of Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and numerous other top names today. Following a run in TNA, he's back in ROH today working full-time for the promotion. Kenny’s celebrity is also growing as a part of a more popular reality show today. The Bachelorette currently featured King as one of the contestants hoping to win the love of the lovely woman the show is about.

7) John Hennigan - Lucha Underground/Acting

John Hennigan's athleticism made him the most successful winner of any Tough Enough contest. Hennigan went on to have a lot of success in WWE as Johnny Nitro and John Morrison after winning the third season. John's body of work included victories in the Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Championship, and appearances in several major events. If Hennigan had not chosen to quit WWE, he could have become a future World Champion. That's how good he was at providing memorable bouts when he was at his peak. Currently, he is known as Johnny Mundo in the Lucha Underground promotion. However, Hennigan's acting career and relationship are the most significant aspects of his life.

8)  Matt Cappotelli - Battling Brain Tumor

Matt Cappotelli was the third and last champion of Tough Enough Season 3. WWE envisioned him as a future star and a major presence in the main event stage. Before the sad news of a malignant brain tumour and illness devastated Cappotelli's world, he spent his career in Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental. In order to recover from the illness, he was obliged to retire earlier than intended. Cappotelli had the tumour removed, but he just encountered more bad luck. Cappotelli was diagnosed with a grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme, according to his Facebook page. This is the most dangerous tumour imaginable. Cappotelli's battle with cancer will continue as he tries to beat it once more.

9) Daniel Puder - Knockouts Hollywood MMA Gym

For the fourth season of Tough Enough, WWE departed from their previous idea. It was no longer a reality show, but a weekly SmackDown competition part. The wannabe wrestlers would compete in a variety of events, including wrestling Kurt Angle and eating pasta. A fresh $1 million prize was on the line, making it even more important to win than normal. Daniel Puder, a former MMA fighter, got the contract because WWE believed he had more promise than everyone else in the competition. During Puder's time in developing, he demonstrated how mistaken they could be about getting heat. WWE let him go after only a few months, wasting all of his money.

10) The Miz - WWE Superstar

The Miz finished second in Tough Enough Season 4 behind Daniel Puder, although he is the most successful contestant in the competition's history. Miz was signed by WWE because of his charisma, but they weren't sold on him as a wrestler. This is why, before entering the ring, he spent the first several years of his WWE tenure hosting segments. Miz went on to become a great star for the firm, and the rest is history. The Miz is the only Tough Enough contestant to win both the WWE Championship and the WrestleMania main event. As the current Intercontinental Champion, WWE continues to put a lot of pressure on Miz.
