Mukhyamantri Muft Sewer Connection Yojana Introduced By Delhi Govt.

Under the "Mukhyamantri Muft Sewer Connection Yojana," the Delhi government would grant free sewer connections.

Highlights:

  • Under the "Mukhyamantri Muft Sewer Connection Yojana," the Delhi government would grant free sewer connections. 

  • The 'Mukhyamantri Muft Sewer Connection Yojana' would provide free sewer connections to 25,000 homes in East Delhi. The Delhi government will provide free sewer connections to 12 colonies in Mustafabad and Karawal Nagar.

Eminent Indian Music Composer Pandit Shivkumar Sharma Passes Away

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, an Indian music composer and santoor musician, died at 84. 

Highlights:

  • He had suffered from kidney problems for the previous six months and was on dialysis. He died due to heart arrest. He elevated the santoor, a once-obscure instrument from Jammu and Kashmir, to classical stature, among more traditional and well-known tools like the sitar and sarod.

  • In 1991, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma was awarded the Padma Shri, and in 2001, the Padma Vibhushan.

  • Shivkumar Sharma was born in Jammu in 1938, and at the age of thirteen, he began learning santoor. In 1955, he gave his first public concert in Mumbai. He is credited with making the santoor mainstream.

  • In the 1956 film Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma created the background music for one of the scenes. Pandit Shivkumar Sharma recorded his debut solo CD four years later.

  • Pandit Shivkumar Sharma collaborated with Hariprasad Chaurasia on the music for various Hindi films, including Silsila, Chandni, and Darr.
