Another significance of this temple is the oil bath. The devotees worship lord saneeswaran by taking an oil bath in the Nala Theertham, the holy tank to get rid of their negativities. Then they light lamps with gingelly oil and offer nivedya made with sesame rice. Devotees also make various offerings at the temple to lord shiva and parvati by offering saree to goddess parvati, food to other bakthas, and also they perform abhishekam with milk, sandal, curd etc to lord shiv.
