The Eternals Post Credit Scenes Explained

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was transported to weird extraterrestrial places in Eternals, which premiered on Disney Plus last week. The film, directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, presents a new team of immortal heroes tasked with protecting Earth from the terrible Deviants, as well as two post-credits scenes that will get you excited for the MCU's future.

The deity who created the Eternals, Arishem the Judge, declares the bill due (as Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo from Doctor Strange would say) and sends Sersei, Kingo, and others into space at the conclusion of the film. They're in risk, and we won't be seeing them much longer (until we catch up next time, whether in an Eternals sequel or another Cosmic-focused MCU film we don't know about).

In contrast, the credits scenes introduce a number of the film's characters and set them in situations that stimulate our interest. Let's get the party started! In total, there are two credits: one for the Mid Credits and another for the End Credits, both of which introduce new characters.

The credits scenes, on the other hand, introduce numerous of the film's characters and place them in situations that pique our interest. Let's begin the celebrations! There are two credits in total, one for the Mid Credits and one for the End Credits, both of which introduce new characters.

The Eternals Post Credit Scenes (Mid Credits)

Harry Styles, a big superstar, is introduced in the first credits scene of the MCU. Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Druig (Barry Keoghan), and Thena (Angelina Jolie) are three of our Eternals who are spending time aboard their spaceship, concerned about what is going on on Earth because they haven't heard from their other Eternals/friends in a long time.

However, they suddenly hear someone aboard their ship, and a large introduction takes place. Pip the Troll (voiced by Patton Oswalt and likely motion captured in the same way as Rocket Raccoon) appears on the ship, introducing Eros of Titan (Harry Styles), also known as Star Fox and Thanos' older brother.

Before the film goes out, Eros tells the Eternals that "your companions are in serious difficulty," and that "we know where to locate them." Eros is an Eternal in his Marvel Comics origin (Thanos has a Deviant gene, which explains why he looks like a gigantic purple monster), and he appears to be in a good position to assist our heroes with their search and future steps. Given that they're all in space, it wouldn't be strange if they ran into some of our other cosmic heroes, such as Captain Marvel, Thor, and the Guardians of the Galaxy

Eternals End-Credit Scene (End Credits)

Kit Harington doesn't have a huge role in Eternals, but it certainly seems to be setting him up for way, way more. As Dane Whitman, Harington only appears in two scenes plus a brief bit on FaceTime, but then at the end of the movie—just before Sersei is plucked off the face of the earth by Arishem—he comes clean, telling her that he's got a bit of tricky family history of his own. But she's plucked off the face of the Earth before he can say any more.

Dane Whitman And The Ebony Blade Teased

Dane is hyping himself as he opens a large package, looking, and about to grab a large sword in the second credits scene. Fans can presume that this is the Famous Ebony Blade, because Dane Whitman transforms into Black Knight in the comic when he and his family use it. In the comics, Dane grows up to be a hero and even an Avenger, but his family has a less than rosy past.

Introduction To Blade

Just as Dane is about to pick up the Ebony Blade in the credits scene, an off-screen voice says, "Sure you're ready for that?"

When we first heard the voice in the movie, we weren't sure who it was. Some speculated that it was Jeffrey Wright's character The Watcher from the film What If...? Others speculated that it was Nick Fury assembling a fresh team for a new mission. But, according to director Chloé Zhao, that person is Blade, who will be played by two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, who also delivered the voice in this sequence.

Potential Crossover

While no release date has been confirmed, the Blade film will be directed by Bassam Tariq and written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Zhao added, "You simply have to wait." "I'm not sure what the movie is about, but Mahershala Ali is a treasure." It'll be spectacular."

Now that we know it's Blade in the scene with Dane, Kit Harington, along with Ali and Delroy Lindo the only two cast members who have been named thus far should be expected to join the Blade movie cast.We don't know where Dane or Blade will appear next, but one possibility (and don't count on it!) is this year's Moon Knight series, which will premiere on Disney+.

It'll be interesting to see a young warrior holding a legendary blade (a la Dane/Black Knight) pair up with a vampire hunter named Blade. We can't wait.
