The 15 Best Toy Story Characters Ranked 2021

1) Woody

Who else except everyone's favourite cowboy, Woody (Tom Hanks), could take the top spot? Woody signifies something deep within each and every viewer of these films. Almost everyone had a favourite toy that meant everything to them. This underlying fundamental link between children and their stuff is embodied by Woody. As a result, fans are more invested in Woody than in anyone else in these flicks. In these films, he also goes through a lot, from learning to accept Buzz as a buddy to rediscovering faith in Andy to realising that he doesn't need a kid to be happy.

2) Buzz Lightyear

Obviously, the fact that one of the co-leads in these films is Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen). Buzz's arc in the first picture, as amusing as it was, was extremely relatable, if not heartbreaking. That first film was tied together by his journey. Even if you exclude the classic voice work and character development, Buzz's slogan "To Infinity and Beyond" is one of the most famous Pixar quotations ever. Buzz appears to be in line to take over as the new leader of Andy's old toys if a sequel is made.

3) Mr Potato Head

When it comes to excellent actor-character pairings, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head comes to mind right away. Don Rickles, the late comedian and voice actor, was a legend. Mr. Potato Head as a character and the entire Toy Story franchise benefited greatly from his humorous instincts. Mr. Potato Head is the most recognisable toy in the brand when it comes to identifiable toys. Despite this, the character's iconography outstripped that of his real-life counterpart. Mr. Potato Head has had more hilarious moments in this series than any other character. Mr. Potato Head is one of the best, from his secret mission as a tortilla to his angry eyes.

4) Jessie

Joan Cusack's cowgirl voice? What isn't to like about that? Indeed however Jessie didn't join the cast until Toy Story 2, the cult felt as if she had been there the entire time. Jessie has proven to be one of Pixar's most popular characters.

5)  Bo Peep

In the first few films, Bo Peep (Annie Potts) was never the centre of attention, which makes her prominent position in Toy Story 4 all the more intriguing. Woody and Buzz had always made the final decisions in the past, but Bo Peep remained the voice of reason throughout. Bo Peep's straight-talking demeanour makes her instantly likeable and accessible. She was more trusting of a friend than virtually any other toy in Andy's room because of her continual quips and strong moral centre. Bo Peep was also the lone female representative in the boys club that constituted the first picture before Jessie came along. Toy Story enhanced her character by demonstrating that she was a robust and self-sufficient toy that survived and thrived on her own.

6) Rex

Rex (Wallace Shawn), the anxious dinosaur, is more relatable to millennials than anyone else, although he's been around since the beginning. This little green beauty provides the ideal counterpoint to Woody and the gang's machinations and intentions. His apprehensive disposition, like C-3PO's, adds to his allure. With an actor like Wallace Shawn behind the microphone, it's no surprise that his performance works so effectively. Any other performer would be impossible to envisage in the part of Rex. Despite the fact that he is seldom the centre of attention, he must appear in every film.

7) Bullseye

Despite the fact that Slinky is a dog, Woody's loyal steed Bullseye feels more like the group's pet buddy. When Woody encountered Bullseye at Al's apartment in Toy Story 2, he made his debut. Bullseye is incredibly loving and shows unwavering love for his entire toy family.

8) Hamm

Hamm (John Ratzenberger) is a hilarious member of the Toy family because he was never a toy in the first place. He's essentially a piggy bank. Hamm's existence, like Forky's in Toy Story 4, merely goes to prove that children's imaginations can make anything into a toy! Hamm is one of the film's funniest characters. The older you become, the more you appreciate his ability to always come up with a witty remark. John Ratzenberger, a Pixar veteran who has participated in every Pixar film to date, also lends his voice to Hamm. Fans adore Hamm, who has been a fan favourite since he was a toddler.

9) Slinky Dog

Dogs are not only man's greatest buddy, but they are also toy sheriffs' best buddies. One of the most well-known toys in the group is Slinky Dog (Jim Varney/Blake Clark). At Disneyworld, they don't just turn any toy into a ride! Slinky has been one of the most devoted characters throughout the series. Slinky is the best companion anyone could ask for, as he is always dependable to Woody and the crew. Before his death in 2000, Ernest himself, Jim Varney, voiced Slinky for the first time. Slinky maintained Pixar's history of superb voice casting and the creation of cute characters.

10)  The Aliens

"Ooooh!" Toy Story had its own unique and charming aliens before the Minions terrorised Facebook feeds. These green aliens (Jeff Pidegon) have appeared in every Toy Story film, first appearing in the claw machine at Pizza Planet while Buzz and Woody are locked inside.

11)  Lotso

Villains aren't always likeable, but they're often the most intriguing characters in any franchise. While Sid was ruthless and The Prospector was cunning, no Toy Story enemy could ever match Lotso (Ned Beaty). Lotso was immediately endearing due to his cuddly nature and appearance. But underneath it all, Lotso was vicious. Lotso, too, was a victim of child abandonment, and he used it to fuel his deeds as he controlled Sunnyside with an iron fist. He was so bad that even after Andy's toys saved his life, he found a way to turn against them and effectively put them to death.

12)  Ken

While Barbie had previously appeared in films, it was Ken (Michael Keaton) who stole the show in this one. Barbie met her love interest at Sunnyside Daycare and the two hit it off right away. Ken became an intriguing character as a result of his friendship with Barbie, as he turned on Lotso and aided Andy's toys. Ken, on the other hand, was amusing in practically every scene. His fashion display is still one of the most hilarious scenes in any Pixar picture, and his response to having his garments shredded was equally amusing. Ken's comedy was excellent, and he had a good character arc.

13) Forky

Toy Story 4's central plot centred around Forky (Tony Hale). This character isn't a regular toy; instead, Bonnie made it out of a spork and other unconventional materials. Because he didn't want to be a toy, Forky had a constant existential crisis.

14) Duke Caboom

The main characters in this series frequently appear in multiple films, however Duke Caboom appears to be an exception (Keanu Reeves). He's a toy with a link to Bo Peep, and he steals the show almost immediately. Almost everything he does as a Canadian stuntman feels over the top in the nicest conceivable manner. Duke stood out because, like so many other Toy Story characters, he had a tragic backstory. Because he couldn't perform like the genuine Duke Caboom, the kid who owned him refused to play with him. Despite the sadness he frequently feels about it, Duke maintains a brave demeanour.

15)  Gabby Gabby

Gabby Gabby (Christina Hendricks) was the antagonist of Toy Story 4 in many respects. As a big talking baby doll, she gave off a sinister atmosphere, and her goal was to take Woody's voicebox in order to fix her own. While this pitted her against the protagonist, she proved to be far from a villain. She was just a girl who wanted a youngster to love her, and she thought having the voicebox would help her achieve that goal. The sequence in which she is thrown down by the girl she wants to love her is one of the saddest in Toy Story history, but the fact that she finally meets a kid allows her to have a happy ending.
