Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey of towns and cities across India on cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation. As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, it was launched with the goal of making India clean and free of open defecation by 2 October 2019. In 2016, the first survey covered 73 cities; by 2020, the survey had expanded to cover 4242 cities and was said to be the world's largest cleanliness survey. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is now in the process of conducting the sixth edition of the survivors in an attempt to increase the coverage of the ranking exercise and enable cities and towns to effectively adopt mission initiatives in a timely and creative manner.

Swachh Survekshan 2021 Citizen Feedback
