Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21

This Single Girl Child Scholarship (SGC) 2020-21 Scheme has been introduced by CBSE and the main aim of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Single Girl Student who is the only girl child of their parents. This scheme offers the students to continue their further school education of class 11 and 12.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21 - Overview

What is the Eligibility Criteria of Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21?

• Any girl child who is the only child of her parents who have completed her Matriculation and has taken admission to the Class XI and XII in school is eligible to apply for the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme. Also, the age of the girl student must not exceed 15yrs at the time of admission.

• The girl student will only be eligible if she has secured 60% or more marks in CBSE class X examination and has taken admission in classes XI or XII in school (Affiliated to CBSE) with a tuition fee not more than Rs. 1500 per month. The increase in tuition fees in such schools will not exceed 10% of the tuition fee in the next two years but during the academic year, it will be considered for this purpose.

• The Scholarship shall only be awarded to Indian Nationals.

• Note: NRI applicants of the board can also apply for the ward and the tuition fees for them should be a maximum of Rs. 6,000pm.

How to Apply for Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21?

You have to follow some steps to apply for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21 such as:

• The applicant or the candidate has to first visit the official site i.e. cbse.nic.in and click on the new user button if you are applying for the first time or the Renewal button if you want to renew the same.

• Read all the guidelines provided and then click on the Continue option there.

• Then fill in all the required information like candidate’s roll number and DOB(as printed on the class X grade sheet) and then click on the continue tab.

• Print the undertaking form, fill it, and paste the photograph and then get it attested from the school.

• Also, make an affidavit given in the ‘Guidelines’ document.

• Scan the above two documents, that is Affidavit and undertaking, and create a PDF file of not more than 1MB size.

• Upload the Document by clicking the ‘Upload Document’ Button and upload both of the documents.

• Print the Confirmation Page.

• Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21 Scholarship Amount: Every girl will be provided with Rs. 6,000 per annum for two years which is for the full duration of Class XI and Class XII in school. No additional charges will be payable such as hostel charges and medical charges etc.

The following is a list of all important document required for Single Girl Child Scholarship 2020-21 as shown below;

• Income certificate and Caste certificate is mandatory.

• Admission Proof

• Bank account details of the educational institution and the students as well.

• Fee structure

• A passport size photo with the signature on it.

• Identity card of the students.

• Rs 50/- stamp paper from the parents(or girl) with the SDM or Gazetted Officer (not below Tahsildar position) or First Class Magistrate along with the affidavit attached to it informing the student is the only child in that family.

• The scholarship’s renewal is done for the upcoming year from the renewal receipt.

• Students not promoted to the next class or standard will be forbidden from the scholarship.

• The scholarship implementation is monitored by UGC.

• Change in course is strictly prohibited.

• The nominees of previous years must pursue the assistance pattern through UGC or Canara bank portal.
