Seminole County Deputy Arrested
On Tuesday, a detention deputy assigned to the Seminole County jail was arrested and accused of smuggling drugs into the building and giving them to a prisoner.
On November 25, The Sheriff’s Office unfolded its criminal investigation into Deputy Starr Ariel Muhammad after a stock of restricted items was found in one prisoner’s cell. The things included two electronic vapes and vape cartridges of suspected THC oil.

As per the sheriff’s office, their inquiry pointed them to Muhammad as the person liable for creeping the contraband into the jail and delivering it to the prisoner.
On Monday, Muhammad was identified as administrative suspension and arrested on charges of sale, manufacture, or delivery of a restrained substance and smuggling or introducing contraband into a county custody facility, both felonies on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, Muhammad has been with the agent since March 2017 but was served with a notice marking the start of the cessation process after her arrest.
Muhammad is being kept in the John E. Polk Correctional Facility- where she has been allocated a $20,000 bond.

Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said in a statement, “Muhammad’s actions are out of line with the standards, traditions, and values of our organization,” in addition, ”She has disobeyed the public confidence and pledge that she took. I am proud of the swift work our investigators did to get to the bottom of this case.”
The criminal investigation and the sheriff’s office internal investigation are both continuing. The State Attorney’s Office will prosecute Muhammad’s case.
