The third Razorback to be detained in the past month was an Arkansas Razorback football player who was taken into custody Tuesday night on a warrant for theft of goods.
Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Jalen St. John is charged with taking a woman's phone without her consent on or about March 14, 2021, and transferring $1,700 from her online bank account, says a court document from the office of Washington County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Durrett.
According to the custody intake report, St. John was checked into the Washington County Detention Center at 9:29 p.m. on Tuesday. The next morning, after posting a $1,500 bond, he was released.

Jalen St. John, an offensive lineman for Arkansas, was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday evening. Since September 8, 2021, St. John has had a warrant out for his arrest. The arrest occurs two days before the Razorbacks' regular-season finale game against the Missouri Tigers. A copy of the affidavit acquired through a Freedom of Information request indicates that St. John is charged with taking a cell phone from a woman to whom he provided transportation "on or about" March 14, 2021. He allegedly used CashApp on the phone for two different charges of $500 and $300, bringing the total to $1,700. The phone is worth $900.

The victim informed detectives that St. John and an unnamed buddy also went to her house following the trip, according to the information in the affidavit's "facts constituting probable cause" section. The victim awoke to find St. John and his companion gone and her phone missing after the three subsequently fell asleep in different rooms. The victim's roommate followed the victim's phone to the Varsity Apartment complex, where St. John had claimed to reside, using the Life360 app to track the device.
