Who Is Randy Jackson?
Randall Darius Jackson is a singer, musician, record producer, entrepreneur, and television personality from America. He started his career as a session musician, in the 1980s. He played bass guitar for an array of jazz, rock, pop, and R&B performers. He served in music production and in the A&R department at Columbia Records and MCA Records. He became famous for his appearances as the longest-serving judge on American Idol. He became the executive producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.

He said that he had a weight of 358 pounds in the season of the show. In 2003, Jackson found that he had type 2 diabetes. He tried to change his lifestyle, which led to the 114-pound weight loss. He recently mentioned in an interview, that his health transformation was long overdue. He had a weight loss surgery in 2003, through which he lost 100 pounds. He told, “went on my own journey to try and discover ‘How do I keep it off? What do I do?’”.

Randy Jackson played on three albums for Jean-Luc Ponty and with the rock band Taxxi in the 1980s. He worked as a session musician for the rock group Journey from 1986 to 1987. He played on Journey's album Raised on Radio in 1986. He went to Italy in the late 1980s, where he played on a record by Italian pop star Zucchero. The record was produced by Corrado Rustici. He took part in many albums along with Corrado Rustici, who played Guitar in the 1980s. He also worked with Billy Cobham.
