Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080: Latest leaked benchmark

According to the latest leaked benchmark discovery, Ampere will be a beast when it arrives in consumer PCs. At 3DMark, there is a private listing for an unnamed NVIDIA graphics card, that is probably some sort of a GeForce RTX 3090 or GeForce RTX 3080, and it blows out a typical GeForce RTX 2080 Ti out of water.

GPU of the next generation represents the shift of NVIDIA to a node of 7 nanometres. It debuted last month in the form of machine learning (A100), and it is widely expected that NVIDIA will launch Ampere later this summer or early fall as a consumer.

Various names of the graphics cards were thrown around. Speculation is they are going to fall beneath these three possible levels.

  • GeForce RTX 3090 or RTX Titan

  • GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or 3080 Super

  • GeForce RTX 3080

The 6,000MHz frequency for the memory is very likely wrong, 3DMark is seen not reading the vitals correctly, which is also not unusual for an unreleased part. It's also seen with a GPU clock 1,935MHz.

Specifications aside, out of this part, we see some monster performance. As in the case of a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which is currently NVIDIA 's top gaming card (the Titan RTX isn't just a gaming card, it straddles the line between gaming and professional chores). The only exception is the Kingpin version, which is strongly overclocked by EVGA. This is an impressive showing, especially when it ends up being a variant of the GeForce RTX 3080. But even though this is the top card (GeForce RTX 3090), on the user side, things look positive for Ampere.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Release Date

For a while, the rumor mill claimed we'll see the next GeForce lineup appear at GTC, or the GPU Development Conference in March. But, since then, Nvidia has canceled their GTC graphics card revelations. Then, Nvidia has officially released the Nvidia Ampere for Data Center. Fortunately, we don't seem to have to wait until 2021 to get a glimpse of next-generation RTX cards. Nvidia GeForce lineups have been around two years apart from each other in the past. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, for example, fell back in May 2016, with GeForce RTX 2080 succeeding in August 2018.

The time between the GTX 980 and GTX 1080 was quite short, with the former arriving in September 2014. Historically, we were always able to rely on a new lineup of graphics cards every couple of years as a general rule.

In any event, AIB partners are said to be clearing out their stock now, allegedly in preparation for an Nvidia Ampere launch in Q3 2020, so this year's chances are high for us to see the RTX 3080, as well as the more powerful RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3090.

What is the cost of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080?

Since we are so far away from a possible release of the GeForce RTX 3080, we obviously have no idea how much it would cost. Nvidia Turing graphics cards saw a big price jump over their Pascal predecessors, and with whatever comes next, we would almost expect the same to happen. The main factor that must be taken into consideration is when thinking about the price of RTX 3080 is 'Big Navi.' When Nvidia Turing hit the streets, AMD basically did not object. Even when Team Red dropped the Radeon VII in February 2019, the RTX 2080 was totally unable to be detronised.

What are the specifications of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080?

There are lot of rumors surrounding alleged RTX 3080 specs, but there are some constants it's going to be 7 nm faster than the RTX 2080. The other rumor, the method of producing 7 nm, is even more compelling. If you would have followed the AMD vs Intel smackdown over the past year, you 're probably aware that one of the things AMD has kept on top of the CPU environment is that it was able to completely implement 7 nm while Intel is stuck at 14 nm, at least when it comes to the desktop. Hardware leaker kopite7kimi also claimed that the RTX 3080 will use the GA102-200 GPU and that it could only be backed up by an RTX 3090 graphics card. Whether the informed guesswork holds true, we could be seeing an AMD Big Navi monster.

It is too early to say just how much quicker and more powerful the RTX 3080 will be. There's an Nvidia GPU with a whopping 33 teraflops, 24 GB of memory, and 1.11GHz clock recently found in a benchmark, as well as another one with 124 units of computation. Although these might be too good to be the RTX 3080, they may also suggest what the RTX 3080 Nvidia GeForce may look like.

We've have heard some more specific specification leaks, notably one from KittyCorgi hardware leaker, which suggests that the next-generation VRAM flagship of Nvidia could potentially come with up to 20 GB.

For example, the Quadro RTX 6000 packs GDDR6 with 24 GB-but it also costs $4,000 (£4,066, AU$6,999).

Many lesser 3000 range graphics cards have also been released, and they can drive those boost clocks to 2.5GHz. Moore's Law is Dead argues that with these new Ampere models, 4 K graphics will become the mainstream standard, and we might look to the future of 4 K gaming on PC.
