Eligibility criteria NIT Tiruchirappalli Assistant Professor (Grade II) Recruitment 2021

• Qualification: 

• Detailed Educational Qualifications, Experience and other criteria for selection shall be as per the modified recruitment rules for Faculty in NITs as per schedule E of the first statutes of the NITs (amendment statutes 2017). Reference: Gazette of India No. 651 dated 24th July, 2017 (https://recruitment.nitt.edu//advt/gazetteofindia.pdf ).

• All new entrants (except to the Department of Architecture) shall have Ph.D. in the relevant / equivalent discipline and shall have First Class in the preceding degrees.

• For faculty in the Department of Architecture, following shall be the essential qualification:Pay Level 10: M.Arch. or M.Plan. with one-year professional experience: Assistant Professor at Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000; Pay Level 11: M.Arch. or M.Plan. with two years professional experience: Assistant Professor at Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 7000;

• For Architecture: Bachelor degree in Architecture and M.Arch / M.Plan / equivalent degree as applicable. For Engineering: B.E./B.Tech. or any equivalent degree and M.E./M.Tech. or any equivalent degree in relevant discipline. Candidates having Ph.D. Degree directly after B.E./B.Tech. from reputed Institutions/Universities will also be considered, if other norms are fulfilled.

• For Humanities/ Sciences / Computer Applications: B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com./BCA or any equivalent undergraduate degree and/ or M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com./ MCA or any equivalent P.G. degree in relevant discipline. For Management: Ph.D. in Management / Business Administration discipline with preceding degree of 2 years full time in Master of Business Administration / Post Graduate Diploma in management or with Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering / Management or Industrial Engineering/ Management with Operations research / Systems / other relevant discipline.

• Salary: Grade II – Pay Level 10,11 (On Contract) [PB-3 with Academic Grade Pay of 6000 / 7000]

• Age: Preferable age limit: 35 years for Assistant Professor (Grade II AGP 6000); Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD as per the GoI norms.

• For the candidates other than SC/ ST/ PwD/ Woman Category: Rs. 1,000 (Rupees One Thousand only)

• For SC/ ST Category: Rs.500 (Rupees Five hundred only)

• For Woman/ PwD Category: No fee is required.

Selection Process for NIT Tiruchirappalli Assistant Professor (Grade II) Recruitment 2021

• All the new entrants to the Institute at Assistant Professor (Pay Level 10/11) will take a screening test. The Institute screening committee will shortlist the eligible applicants.

• The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for the screening test and/or presentation and / or Interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending screening test and/or presentation. However, for PwD candidates appearing for interview, TA/DA will be paid as per GoI norms

• The decision of the committees involved in selection process is final and binding. No interim correspondence / inquiries will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of shortlisting. Any dispute with regard to selection process will be subject to court/tribunal having jurisdiction at Madurai Bench of Honourable High Court of Judicature at Madras.

General Information And Instructions for NIT Tiruchirappalli Assistant Professor (Grade II) Recruitment 2021

• This being an advertisement governed by the Flexible Faculty Structure, relevant instructions from MoE issued till the date of interview will be applicable.

• Policy on avoiding in-breeding: Candidates who have obtained their most recent degree (Ph.D.) from NIT, Tiruchirappalli, normally will not be considered for recruitment, except where there is a 3 years gap between leaving the Institute and last date of the submission of online application

• Period of Probation for Regular employees of the Institute: Subject to the provisions of the Act and the Statutes, the appointments to posts under the Institute shall be made on probation for a period of one year wherever applicable. The appointing authority shall have the power to extend the period of probation of any employee of the Institute for such periods as it may deem fit.

• Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence of any form will be treated as disqualification for the post applied.

• Selected candidates to the above faculty positions will be fixed in the minimum basic pay as per norm and only the regular service at NIT, Tiruchirappalli, will be counted for any purpose thereafter.

• More than six months of experience in regular position in any organization will only be considered as total experience. The period of experience rendered by a candidate on part-time basis, daily wages, guest faculty / visiting faculty will not be counted while calculating the valid experience for shortlisting the candidates for presentation and/or interview

• All original documents including valid ID Proof will have to be produced at the time of Written Exam and or Interview for verification.

• The last date for receiving hard copy by registered / speed post is 04.10.2021 (5.30 p.m.). The Institute shall not be responsible for any sort of postal delay for whatsoever reason

• Reservation policy will be as per Government of India norms. Instructions from MoE issued till the date of interview will be applicable. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ EWS/ PwD should enclose a copy of the certificate issued by the competent authority along with the application;

• Candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS should enclose copy of the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS certificate issued by competent authority on or after 1st April 2021; otherwise their application will be considered in unreserved (UR) category only

• Candidates should fill the online Application form with correct details for every item. Candidates should carefully fill up all the details required in the online application form including certificate relating to Age, Education Qualification, valid Community/ EWS/ PwD Certificates, etc.

• This online facility will be available in the Institute website www.nitt.edu from 25.08.2021 to 24.09.2021. The online application process will be closed on 24.09.2021 at 5.30 p.m.

• Candidate should pay a non-refundable application processing fee per Department per post applied through online payment

• Candidates are advised to make sure that all the details entered are correct and final before Final Submission. The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found, at a later date, that any information given in the application is incorrect / false, the candidate is liable for criminal action.

• Candidates who wish to apply for more than one Department should send the hard copy separately, with all necessary enclosures.
