NEC Scholarship 2020-21 is the announcement by The North Eastern Council (NEC) scholarship which is an initiative of the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam which provides financial assistance to economically backward students of the North Eastern Region (NER) to pursue their teaching through engineering and other professional courses approved by the NEC. The candidates can pursue Diploma/ Certificate courses, UG level degree, PG level degree, PhD, and an MPhil degree. the scholars pursuing different disciplines within or outside of the NER but within India can avail of the advantages offered by the NEC scholarship 2020 Assam.

NEC Scholarship 2020 - under Courses & Qualifying examination

1.Diploma Courses
Examination Passed: HSLC or HSSLC or Secondary School Leaving or Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate examination from a recognised State or Central board with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
2. Degree Courses:
Examination Passed: HSSLC or Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate examination from a recognised State/Central Board with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
3. Postgraduate Courses
Examination Passed: Degree level examination in any discipline (BA/BSc/BE/BTech/ MBBS/LLB/BCA/BBA etc. from a recognized Institute/ University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
4. M.Phil & PhD Courses
Examination Passed: PG degree from any recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
NEC scholarship 2020 Assam - Eligibility Criteria for NEC Scholarship 2020
The scholarship is open only to a student who may be a permanent resident of any of the North Eastern States.
The scholarship shall be admissible to the scholars whose parent/guardian’s annual income from all sources shall not exceed Rs 8.0 lakh.
The income certificate issued by the competent authority shall be furnished by the candidate.
For candidates belonging to the year 2020-21 and onwards.
At the time of availing the scholarship, the code must not be in receipt of the other scholarship/financial assistance from the other source.
A sponsored candidate under financial condition during the amount of study or working/in-service candidates shall not be eligible to receive the scholarship
A student shall only be considered for scholarship within the year of commencement of his/her course. For a subsequent year, after all, only renewal is allowed
