They are possibly most recognized for their roles as police officers on television: Mantegna is on Criminal Minds, while Sinise is on CSI: NY.

Dennis Haysbert

Haysbert, who played God in the TV show Lucifer and the President on 24, is an appropriate individual to respect General Colin Powell, who died last year. Powell has previously performed at National Memorial Day Concerts. Thus the event is particularly fitting.

Gil Birmingham

Birmingham has been in the Twilight films, and the TV shows Yellowstone, Banshee, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He tells the narrative of Lakota military medic Francis Whitebird as a memorial to those who died in the Vietnam War.

Jean Smart

Smart is a well-known and award-winning actress who rose to prominence on stage before appearing in many TV episodes and films, including Fargo, Watchmen, Mare of Easttown, and others.

Mary McCormack

McCormack is a seasoned performer at the National Memorial Day Concert. She has appeared in many television episodes, including The West Wing and The Kids Are Alright, and films such as Deep Impact and True Crime. In this year's event, she pays tribute to WWII women.

Lea Salonga

The multi-award-winning Filipina actress is recognized for her powerful theatrical voice, having featured in Miss Saigon on Broadway.

Norm Lewis

Lewis is primarily a theatrical actress who has been in many productions, including The Phantom of the Opera.

Craig Morgan

Morgan is a veteran who turned to country music after serving. His biggest song is "That's What I Love About Sunday."

Giddens is at the vanguard of a progressive strain of roots music, has unearthed buried Black music history, and has even created an opera. She is the recipient of a MacArthur "genius" award and a Grammy Award.
