On January 29, the Tamil action thriller Master will have its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, the streamer revealed on Wednesday. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto, the film was released in theatres during the Pongal holiday on January 13th. To reach a wider audience and to ensure that the movie reaches an audience who have been staying home due to the pandemic conditions, the production decided to release the movie on Amazon Prime Video on January 29, 2021.

The master movie is about John Durairaj known as JD (Vijay), an alcoholic professor who is sent to a juvenile correctional centre, is pursued by Master, where he fights with a gangster called Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi), who uses correctional centre children for illegal activities. The Movie is dated for its digital release on Amazon Prime on January 29, 2021. The lead actor of the movie on a recent statement said that he's "glad" that fans in India and around the world will enjoy the movie on Amazon Prime Video. He also said, “I'm sure the interesting duel between John and Bhavani will take the audience on a roller-coaster ride of action and drama”.
