Kartika Month is regarded in Hinduism as a particularly holy month. The month of Chaturmas is coming to an end and Kartik month is ideal for Tulsi planting and marriage. During this month Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshiped. It is also believed that worshiping Vishnu and Lakshmi brings money and prosperity. The month of Kartik begins from 21st October and gets over by 19th November.
Kartik Purnima 2021
On the Purnima (full moon) day or the fifteenth lunar day of Kartik month, Kartika Purnima is observed. Tripuri Purnima and Tripurari Purnima are two other names for the same day. The festival of lights of the gods is also known as Deva-Diwali or Deva-Deepawali. Karthika Deepam is a celebration held on a different date in South India and Sri Lanka. Matsya, god Vishnu's fish-incarnation, was born on Kartik Purnima. It is also the birthday of Vrinda, the Tulsi plant's incarnation, and Kartikeya, Shiva's son and deity of war. This day is also significant for goddess Radha, god Krishna's eternal companion and lover. On this day, Krishna and Radha are said to have danced rasa and Krishna worshipped Radha. This day is also dedicated to the ancestors who have passed on. When the day falls in the Nakshatra (lunar mansion) Krittika, the event has even greater significance and is called Maha Kartik. Bharani is the nakshatra, and the results are said to be exceptional. If the nakshatra is Rohini, the results will be even more rewarding. On this day, every humanitarian act is considered to bring advantages and blessings equal to 10 yajnas.
What Should We Do In Kartik Month?
Bathing in sacred rivers in Brahmamuhurta is extremely important during this month. The housewives get up early in the morning and take a bath; this bath is suitable for both virgins and married people.
This month's Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi or Dev Uthni Ekadashi, is the most important since it is on this day that Lord Vishnu awakens after four months of sleep, and the auspicious works begin.
Fasting is vital for penance and worship during this month, and as a result, honour is obtained in life. During this month, austerity is rewarded with salvation. The oppressed are saved by observing this month with devotion.
Diet should also be maintained strictly during this month. Pulses should not be consumed during this month.
Sleeping in the afternoon is also forbidden during this month

Many regulations are followed in the month of Kartik, causing feelings of renunciation and Saiyam to arise in a person's life.
Meat, booze, and other vices are abstained from for the entire month. Many individuals believe that eating onions, garlic, brinjal, and other similar vegetables is forbidden.
Nowadays, sleeping on the floor is regarded as acceptable; it is claimed that this causes man's nature to soften, and the sense of ego that comes with it to vanish.
In Kartik, bathing is done during the Brahma Muhurta.
Tulsi and the Sun God are both given water.
This month, the concept of lust is abandoned. Brahmacharya is adhered to.
