On January 5, 2023, influential Jovi criticized prominent Twitch broadcaster Kai Cenat after she claimed that Djigui Seck, a friend of Cenat's, had sexually abused her at a party the Twitch star had hosted. Since the charges were made public, Cenat has reacted, detailing his interactions with both parties and the steps he has taken.
Instagram influencer Jovi claimed that at Kai Cenat's New Years Eve party in New York, she fell asleep and was then sexually assaulted by an unknown assailant. Later, Jovi alleged that Djigui Seck, a known friend of Kai Cenat, had assaulted her. Jovi first criticized Cenat because she believed Cenat was being unhelpful in identifying the accused, but she has now retracted those statements.

Kai Cenat Responds To Sexual Assault Controversy
Today, Kai Cenat finally spoke up about the sexual assault claims that have been circling him and his New Year's Eve party. He informed viewers that he had spoken to both the accused victim, Jovi, and the suspected assailant, Djigui Seck, in that live. Kai informed his audience that he had immediately contacted the police and that an inquiry into the incident is currently in progress.
Many viewers, including fellow streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker, weren't satisfied with Kai's response to the accusations, though.
Hasan told his viewers, “What he did did not show consideration to the victim to the degree that it should have.” “Especially given the detailed involvement from the victim and the severity of the crime.”
Kai Cenat’s Explanation To The Allegation
Cenat went back on live on January 6 in order to respond to the accusations and justify his behavior the previous day. Cenat introduced himself to both sides at the start of the broadcast and said that while Djigui Seck and Jovi have been good friends since high school, he has never met Jovi before.
Cenat continued by saying that he didn't originally respond to Jovi or to the charges on any of his social media platforms because he immediately called his legal advice and the legal authorities. Cenat said, “I don’t blame y’all for asking me.” “As soon as this was brought to my attention, I didn’t go nowhere but the police. I went to my legal team and I went to the police. This is a serious topic, let’s go to the police.”
The Twitch streamer explained that once his team contacted Jovi, he told them he was unable to discuss the problem or offer a solution. Cenat insisted that he had no knowledge of the alleged assault at his New Year's Eve party and that, since hearing both sides of the story, he had not been in touch with any of the parties involved.
