Jambukeswarar Temple

The Jambukeswarar Temple is a well-known temple that is one of the five major Shiva temples in Tamil Nadu that represent the five elements of nature. It was established during the time of the early Chola dynasty. This temple is associated with the element of 'neer,' or water, most likely because it has an underground water stream that runs all year. Jambukeswarar Temple is also one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalam (it is also known as one of the world’s greatest Shiva temples) listed by Saiva Nayanars, who were the follower of lord shiva. This is a more than 1800 years old temple and it is located nearby the Cauvery River, the temple is full of exquisite Chola inscriptions adorning its stone walls. If you are a lover of art and architecture then the temple is a just treat for you and it is peaceful too.
