When she was 21 years old, Tulsi Gabbard was elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives. She worked as a field medical unit of the Hawaii Army National Gaurd while positioned to Iray from 2004 to 2005. She served as Army Military Police Officer platoon leader, while stationed from 2008 to 2009. Tulsi Military Career
Gabbard was enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard, while working in the Hawaii State Legislature in April 2003. She was employed for a 12-month tour in Iraq. She served as the specialist with the Medical company, 29th Support Battalion, 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. In March 2007, she completed her graduation from the Accelerated Officer Candidate School at the Alabama Military Academy. Tulsi was commissioned as a second lieutenant and assigned to the 29th Brigade Special Troops Battalion. She has also served as the Army Military Police Officer. She is the first woman to get an award of appreciation from the Kuwait National Guard.
