The American Dream is known as the national ethos of the United States, a collection of ideas such as democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity, and equality, in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, as well as upward social mobility for the family and children, all of which are attained through hard work in a society with few barriers. The American Dream is not a new concept; it was first established in 1630 when Puritans arrived in the New World. In 1931, James Truslow Adams coined the phrase "American Dream," stating that "life should be better, richer, and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for everybody according to ability or achievement," regardless of social status or birth circumstances.
